2 injured while crossing Lawari top

30th Death Anniversary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto observed.

CHITRAL:  Like other parts of the country Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers observed 30th death anniversary of Martyred Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto the then Premier of Pakistan. The program was held at town hall presided over by Muhammad Hakeem Advocate General Secretary of PPP Chitral Chapter. The speakers paid rich tribute to Z.A. Bhutto who was the only popular leader of poor community. They passed a unanimous resolution. Through a resolution they decided that workers of PPP will communicate message of Shaheed Bhutto and his mission will be continue for each and every sacrifice. They expressed their fully confidence over President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Provincial Minister for population Saleem Khan.  The speakers stressed on party worker to continue Bhutto Mission for restoration of democracy and supporting poor segments of the society. They lamented unequal distribution of Benazir Income Support program at Chitral. They also criticized some of MPs supporting heir party workers illegally. The speakers also criticized SRSP for nepotism. They  said that Bhutto was the only leader who discourage feudalism system in the counry and framing unanimous constitution of 1973 where more Islamic points were mentioned and supported poor people. Those who spoke on the occasion sere Syed Burhan Shah joint secretary of PPP, Sultan Shah District Naib Nazim, Muhammad Advocate General Secretary of PPP Chitral chapter. The program was conclude with offering words of Gul Nawaz Khaki. A large number of Nazimeen including Tehsil Nazim Sartaj Ahmad Khan, councilors and party workers attended the death anniversary program.

One day debate on eradicating of cheating practice by support of Students held at Degree College Chitral.

A day long debates was held and open forum at Government Degree College Chitral. Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan was chief guest while the ceremony was presided over by Muhammad Riaz Principal of the college. Professor Ubaidur Rehman performed as stage secretary. The ceremony was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. The students asked different question in open forum. They criticized dilapidated condition of the college, big ditches in the middle of different block and portion of college. They also complained of no compound wall around the football ground. They also complained of shortage of teaching staff. The students also pointed that there is no Mosque  and poor conditions of toilets in college hostels. The students also raised the issue regarding incomplete portion of post graduate block in the college and urged for launching classes in the post graduate section. Professor Dost Muhammad, Dr. Inayatullah Faizi and other teaching staff also demanded for college bus and staff car for the Principal. They also demanded for more 5 Buses for college students as they coming from very far flung areas of the district.

Addressing on the occasion Chief guest Sartaj Ahmad Khan assured them that their grievances would be communicated to provincial government for settling your problems. He also stressed on launching evening classes in the college. He said that drainage system would be improved. He said that this college was established in the regime of Z.A. Bhutto Shaheed the then prime Minister of Pakistan. Not only was this college established here in Bhutto regime but Commerce College and more infrastructures. He announced for opening campus of Malakand University at this college premises. M. Riaz Principal of the college said that PC-1 has already been sent for renovation and maintenance of the college. He said that a website and college magazine would be launched to improve extra curriculum activities of the students to enhance and boost their talents. He said that regular tests of students would be held twice a month to discourage cheating practice and to prepare our students mentally for their annual examination. A large number of students and college staff participated the debates and open forum. At last all participants offered Dua for the soul of Shaheed Z.A. Bhutto.

2 Injured while crossing Lawari Top by feet.

As well as two persons were badly injured while they crossing the killer mountain of Lawari pass by feet. According to Drosh Police a convey of comprising over some passengers (pedestals) were coming from Dir to Chitral by feet crossing the killer mountain of Lawari pass. When they reached a blind turn they were covered by a big avalanches which collapsed from near by mountain peak as a result two persons were covered under avalanche. Hence the local volunteers recovered them lively and were rushed immediately to Drosh and Chitral hospitals. They were known as Maqsood Ahmad son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of Sialkot and Totiur Rehman son of Mian Gul resident of Dir hence the hospital source told this scribe that their lives are out of danger.
