Srinagar, May 27 (Scoop News) -Two LeT militants have been killed on Friday during an encounter with Police and Army in Nowpora area of Sopore in North Kashmir.
Police said that on specific information about the presence of armed militants in Nowpora area of Sopore Police and 22 RR laid a siege of the area today.
An encounter ensued in which two militants were killed. The killed militants have been identified as Omais and Qari Anas. Both the killed militants are foreigners and belong to the militant outfit LeT.
1 Dies, 1 injured,Vehicle damaged in road mishaps
One traffic police constable died while other police personnel and a civilian were injured in road accidents across the Kashmir Valley.
Police said that on 24.05.2011, a Santro Car bearing registration number JK03/5018 hit and injured a Traffic Police constable namely Mohammad Altaf No. 1266/Aux near Polo-view Crossing, Srinagar falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kothibagh. Injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. A case has been registered in this regard.
A Police vehicle Tata 407 ruby bearing registration number JK02R/5527 of District Police Lines Kulgam turned turtle at Devsar, Kulgam falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kulgam while it was on way from Devsar to Kulgam, resulting in minor injuries to some police personnel. The vehicle was damaged in this incident. Injured were shifted to district hospital Kulgam.
A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK5B/5522 hit and injured a boy namely Mudasir Ahmad Lone age 13 years son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Udipora at Langate, Handwara falling under the jurisdiction of police station Handwara. Injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
