Jammu, October 7 (Scoop News) –A Rs. 67 crore 200-bedded gynecology hospital would soon be added to the Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital Jammu to cater to the health requirements of people of the State.
This was stated by Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, . Sham Lal Sharma, during an inspection of Government Gandhi Nagar hospital, Jammu here today.
Among others, Director, Madhu Khullar, Superintendent . Romesh Gupta, Senior Doctors . Romesh Birpuri, Rakesh Sharma and other senior officers of Health, officers from Horticulture and other concerned departments accompanied the Minister.
It was informed that Rs. 10 crore have been released by the Central Government for this prestigious building.
During the inspection, the Minister went round all the wards and other units and took stock of the facilities being provided to the patients. He also inspected the blood bank, laboratories, Ultra Sound block, Physiotherapy, orthopedic, Surgery, Pathologist block, ENT and CT scan and diagnostic system in the hospital. He said that it is endeavour of the Government to provide improved healthcare facilities to the people across the State at their doorsteps, for which, all peripheral institutions are being upgraded to cater the medical requirements of the patients.
Expressing satisfaction over management and sanitation of the hospital, the Minister said that patient friendly environment is must for effective treatment to the patients. He appreciated the Medical Superintendent for his management in the hospital and hoped that with the efforts of his entire team, the Gandhi Nagar hospital would shortly figure among the best institutions in the state.
He asked the doctors and paramedics to discharge their duties more carefully to serve the patients. He asked the doctors to serve the mankind with utmost zeal and dedication to uphold the dignity of this noble profession.
