200 protesting journalists are arrested in Karachi

“Three kidnapped women are released by local Taliban of Dara Adam Khel tribal area, total eleven persons were made hostages by Taliban militants in Dara Adam Khel, release of three female hostages is an effort of Council of elders, upon its request Taliban militants have released female hostages on Monday” a source have said.

“Government forces have taken control of Parachinar and curfew is imposed, 12 men of Pakistan Army are killed in Parachinar, calm now prevails in Parachinar capital of Kurram Agency, ceasefire is observed by warring Shia and Sunni sect people, but in surrounding areas of Parachinar incidents of sectarian violence are still taking place, people are migrating towards Tull and Hangu from Kurram agency”, sources have said.

“Due to closure of Kohat Parachinar road, people of Parachinar, Waziristan and Tull are   using Gurgury  Karak road for traveling,  Tull Parachinar road is closed for traffic, people are walking on foot to exit from turbulent environment of Kurram agency”, sources have said.

“In Swat  26 Taliban militants are killed during clashes with government forces in Tehsil Kabal and district Shangla due to clashes between Taliban militants and government forces people of Swat are migrating towards safer places”, sources have said.

“Shedule of forth coming national elections is announced by Election Commission of Pakistan, polling for both National and Provincial Assemblies will be held on 8th of January 2008, international observers will be allowed to monitor the elections and strict action will be taken against those who will try to disenfranchise women voters”, sources have said.

“200 Journalists are arrested in Karachi on Monday protesting journalists were  baton charged by police, female journalists were also beaten up by police in Karachi during protest demonstration held yesterday, president of press club Karachi is  arrested by police, five female journalists are arrested by police”, sources have said.

“Chairman Pakistan Tehrik Insaf Party and national cricket hero Imran Khan is on hunger strike till death in jail”, his party sources have said. Jail administration has said that Imran Khan has taken bread, eggs and fruit juice in breakfast and news regarding his hunger strike till death is not true.
