Nine eminent Indian-Americans, including two women, were bestowed with 2008 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award at a glittering ceremony in Manhattan on Wednesday night.
Among prominent Indian American recipient of the award given for their excellence in the field of business are Neeta Bhasin, president and CEO of ASB Communications; Sunil Garg, executive director of New Jersey’s Union County Utilities Authority; Ambuj Goyal, general manager, IBM; Sarbari Gupta, president and founder of Electrosoft Services Inc; and Sameer Mittal, president and chief financial officer of UK West Inc, a manufacturer of solid waste components.
Dr Shan Nair, who co-founded Nair & Company with Vyoma Nair in 1994; R Ravishankar vice-president of I-flex solutions; Kamalpreet S. Virdi, executive president of the Aequor Technologies Inc; and Ajay Waghray, chief information officer of Verizon Wireless were among other Indian Americans to receive the award
