222 lakh tourists, pilgrims visited J&K in last 2 years: Nasir

Jammu, February 25 (Scoop News) –       Minister of State for Tourism and Culture,  Nasir Aslam Wani in reply to a question by Mr Ajay Sadhotra on behalf of Mr Ravinder Kumar Sharma today informed the House that 222 lakh tourists and pilgrims visited the state in last 2 years.

      Replying to the Supplementaries raised by  Ajay Kumar Sadhotra,  Naresh Kumar Gupta and Ajat Shatru Singh, the Minister said that the Gondola Cable Car project from Mubarak Mandi to Bahu Fort and Makhdoom Sahib are waiting clearance from forest department and Archaeological survey of India respectively. He said both the departments have now agreed to provide the clearance to these twin projects and the work would be started soon.

       In reply to another question by Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri, he informed the House that the objective of Academy of Art, Culture and Languages is organizing seminars, interactions, conferences and other cultural activities across the State.  Ajat Shatru Singh raised supplementary on the question.

      While replying to another question by Master Noor Hussain,  Nasir said that total number of bovine animal cases registered during the last two years in district Samba and Jammu is 218 in which 6 persons have been booked under PSA for illegal transportation of bovine animals. Supplementary to this question was raised by Murtaza Ahmad Khan.
