Jammu, December 17 (Scoop News) – It is a matter of grave concern that unemployed physiotherapists are still on streets protesting for their genuine rights for the last 24 days and their cries for the survival are not reaching the dumb coalition government, says BJP State Spokesperson Dr. Nirmal Kamal. Such a callous and apathetic attitude of pro-militant government has very clearly given a message to the masses that the State government is not at all interested in absorbing unemployed technocrat physiotherapists against the already existing 250 vacancies in the government medical faculties.
While coming heavily on the pretentious claims of the State government that a lot is being done in the name of equal development of all the regions and upgrading of Health facilities in the State, Dr. Nirmal Kamal asserted that nothing is being done practically in reality and ignoring the grievances of physiotherapists is one such evidence which exposes hollow claims of the State government’s emissaries. Physiotherapy is the utmost significant part of health services all over the country. Facility of physiotherapy in the State government hospitals is demanded as this service in the private health sector is quite an expensive affair beyond the pocket of ordinary citizen. Most of the public require this facility in the public sector. The State Health Ministers in the past have several times made commitments regarding provision of this facility in the government hospitals wherein still 250 vacancies are awaiting the occupants. Very recently State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah received an award on the basis of State as No.1 in health sector declared by an organization at Delhi. One fails to understand the authenticity of the report while the health facilities in the respective Health Centres in both the Urban and Rural areas are not in conformity with the survey conducted by that organization which declared the state as No. 1 in Health sector.
Not only this the displaced persons from PoK have also been on protest demanding their right of permanent settlement by implementing Wadhwa Committee Report for the last several years without any action from the government. The government has ample finance, time and mind to rehabilitate 3000 militants and their families. Unfortunately for the last few days the State government emissaries have been on whirl-wind tour of laying foundation stones to claim development achieved later on but have no finance, time and mind to listen to these protestors. The government should take cognizance of the matter very seriously or it will be presumed that the government awakens only after some hundred sacrifice their lives.
