Jammu, February 20, (Scoop News)-Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today informed the House that 52638 posts were referred to Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) since 2009-10 and so far 26418 selections have been made.
Replying to a question by Abdul Gani Malik in the House, the Finance Minister informed that with the opening balance of 16659 posts 4058 posts referred in 2009-10 and selection of 10045 posts made by the SSRB. He said 10998 posts referred during 2010-11 and selection of 4855 posts were made.
The Minister informed that 3297 posts were referred to the SSRB during 2011-12 and selections of 3267 posts were made during the said period. He said 2594 posts were referred during 2012-13 and selections of 6642 posts made during last fiscal, whileas 15032 posts were referred during current fiscal till February 14 to SSRB and selection of 1609 posts made during the said period.
In reply to the supplementaries by some members, the Finance Minister informed that Government endeavours to fill up all vacant posts through recruitment agencies in a time bound manner adding that the recruitment process during past was delayed due to court stay which was vacated. He said recently the results of written examination for 11, 000 posts was out and necessary selection process is on through SSRB. He said the selection of MVD inspectors have also been made by the SSRB and orders in favour of selected candidates would be issued soon. He said Government would fill the vacant posts of PSC members besides posting of SSRB members well in time to ensure time bound selections in different departments.
Ms. Mehbooba Mufti, Jugal Kishore, Yashpal Kundal, A. R. Veeri, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Advocate Abdul Haq and Nizam-ud-Din Bhat raised supplementaries and highlighted the issues of selection of Jail Wardens, Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers Handwara, Class-IV employees list of Baramulla, teachers selection list of Kupwara besides prompt selection to vacant posts in health, education, horticulture departments.
