The Governor replied to the queries of the Census officials, filled up the requisite forms and recorded his signatures thereon.
Interacting with the Census Officers, the Governor enquired about the number of officials deployed for the second phase of Census and the arrangements made for enumeration of the nomadic population in the State. He stressed the need for the Enumerators and Supervisors ensuing an accurate census as it shall contribute to establishing a valid database for the planning and formulation of Central and State government policies and programmes for ensuring balanced and equitable development of each of the three regions of the State.
Briefing the Governor, the Director of Census Operations, said that around 30,000 well trained enumerators and supervisors have been deployed for the conduct of the second phase of Census-2011, which will conclude on February 28. He added that, thereafter, a revisional round of five days duration will be held to cover the remainder work. He also briefed the Governor about the arrangements made for enumerating the nomadic population in their temporary habitats.
