Jammu and Kashmir Police and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua, under Civic Action Programme will be organising 2nd Police Martyr’s Memorial North Zone Inter-Club T-20 Cricket Championship which starts tomorrow at Sports Stadium Kathua. This was disclosed by chairman of the organizing committee, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu-Kathua range, Farooq Khan in a press conference held here today.
“The tournament is being held in remembrance of the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir Police, who have sacrificed their lives while maintaining peace and harmony in the state,” he said.
He informed that 28 teams shall be participating in this mega event, wherein the winner shall receive a cash prize of Rupees one lac and the runners-up team Rupees 51,000, along with trophies and mementoes. Man of the tournament will be awarded with a Suzuki motobike.
Apart from the teams drawn from different parts of the state, the prominent participating sides include BSNL, PSEB Patiala, Jallandhar, Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Delhi, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur.
