It has just been reported by the Associated Press that Maryland Police say three people have died today January 25, 2014 in a shooting at the Mall in Columbia, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C. One of the dead is presumed to be that of the gunman.
According to Twitter a Howard County police reported a shooting had taken place at the Mall in Columbia, Maryland.
Authorities received a call to 911 at around 11:15 a.m., reporting shots had been fired at the mall. When police responded to the scene, there were three people found dead, including a presumed gunman who was found near a gun and ammunition. No other information was available pertaining to the other two people.
Police was said to have secured the scene according to a tweet that was issued by them around or about 12:36 p.m.
This mall is located in the center of town, which is a suburb of Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
The mall normally opens at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday’s; there was no indication as to the number of shoppers or workers that were present at the time of the shooting.
