3 persons died including 2 children by rabbis dog biting at Drosh Area.
CHITRAL: As well as 3 persons including two children were died due to biting by rabbis dog in Drosh area some 45 KM from here. According to detail dozens of people were bitten by stray and rabbis dogs’ at Drosh as a result one woman and two children were died. They were rushed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Drosh were they were vaccinated but they succumbed and one women and two children expired. The local people complained of less accuracy of vaccine. This scribe contacted Executive District Officer Health where Dr. Inayatullah district Coordinator Expanded Program for Immunization (EPI) disclosed that in such cases the dog should not to be killed. Hence people of Drosh wrongly killed the dog and it is not confirmed that either the dog was rabbis or not. He said in case of biting by a dog the local people should to tide the dog and keep it under observation if the dog died within 10 days it is confirm that the dog is rabbis otherwise the dog could not be declared rabbis.
He said that in case of biting by a rabbis dog the patient is giving 11 doses and all dogs, and cats of the area are being killing or separated because a rabbis dog also bit other dogs and casts as a result they also became rabbis. Responding a question regarding potential of the vaccine he said that these anti Rabbis Vaccine is purchasing from National Institute of Health Islamabad after proper confirmation of its validity and accuracy. He said that potency of vaccine was accurate and working perfectly which had been purchased by EDO health office and they also have been finished which will be purchased very soon. He advised general public that in case of biting by a rabbi’s dog they should to not kill the dog and should to keep it under observation at least for 10 days if the dog expired in 10 days its rabbi ness is confirm.
