Chetan Bhagat (born 22 April 1974) became a best-selling Indian author in no time.
He studied at The Army Public School, Delhi (1978-1991) and graduated from IIT Delhi (1991-1995).
He completed his post-graduate studies from IIM Ahmedabad (1995-1997), where he received a medal for the ‘best outgoing student award’.
After eleven years in Hong Kong, the author relocated to Mumbai in 2008, where he works in an investment bank. Apart from books, the author has a keen interest in screenplays and spirituality.
Chetan is married to Anusha, his classmate from IIMA and has twin boys Ishaan and Shyam.
On the occasion of his book release today at Hyderabad, Chetan Bhagat is narrating the tale of a boy who wants to be a businessman in latest book, The 3 mistakes of my Life.
His first novel — Five Point Someone — made Chetan Bhagat a household name. It revolved around the story of three IIT students and was lapped up by readers.
Those who termed him a one-book wonder became silent after his second novel, One Night at Call Centre, dispelled that doubt, by selling 74 lakhs copies in just 3 days. This book also became a bestseller.
Therefore it is no surprise that there is a huge anticipation regarding his third book. "I have always been interested in writing but I never expected my books to do so well," says Chetan.
He recalls that he was living in Hong Kong when his first book were released and had no idea how much interest they generated. "But after coming here, I realised that they are very popular," he says. "Of course, I feel good about this."(News from T.V. Media)
