30 KV Micro Hydro power house inaugurated at Broghul valley.

CHITRAL: To bring positive changes in lives of Broghul people who still living of stone-age era the Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) launched a 30 KV micro hydro power house MHP at Broghul valley. General Officer Commanding (GOC) 17 Division Malakand Major General Javed Mahmood Bukhari was chief guest on the occasion who unveil plaque of the board and inaugurated the power house.
Chief executive officer of SRSP Shahzda Masoodul Mulk was also present on the occasion. Addressing to the ceremony GOC General Bukhari said that this power house will bring positive changes in the lives of these people. He congratulated CEO SRSP and his step for initiating this good work. He said that people of this backward and border area are very loyal to Pakistan but unfortunately they are still deprived from electricity.
MNA Chitral Shahzada Iftikharuddin said in his speech that students of the area can be read at night time after completion of this power house and they will also get higher education. Some beneficiaries of the power house told this scribe that we are still deprived from electricity in this modern era of information technology and use Latten and wood for lighting.
They said that we hope that we will get relief from kerosene oil and burning wood for lighting and heating purpose because the area get 5 feet snow in winter season. They said that we severely waiting of this power house to watch TV in our houses and use computer.
District Program Manager SRSP Tariq Ahmad said that this power house will complete with a cost of 7.5 million and will benefit 70 households in its surrounding.
Engineer Khadimullah of SRSP revealed that there are so many narrow places in Broghul river by natural dam surrounding by stones and rock from both sides where big dams can be constructed for hydro power and irrigation purposes.
Residents of the area thanked to high ups of SRSP for launching this power house because there is no electricity in the whole valley and no other organization have worked in this connection. They demanded from the Federal and provincial government for constructing of dams and water reservoir on Broghul river for establishment of hydro power houses and irrigation purposes to bring green revolution in this most backward area which were neglected in past where there was no road until 2013, and still no road to last villages, no school, no college and no electricity in scenic valley.
