350 patients examined in free surgical camp including 30 Operations by FIF. By: Gul Hamaad farooqi CHITRAL: Some 350 patients were examined in Free Surgical Camp at Tehsil Headquarters hospital Drosh some 45 KM from here. The free surgical camp was organized by Falahi Insaniyat Foundation FIF ( a branch of Jamat-e- Dawa) under supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Ayub of Services Hospital Lahore. Talking to this scribe Dr. Ayub said that they conducted 30 free operations of poor patients of the area most of them were kidney and hernia patients. Abu Haroon Amir of FIF Chitral, Dir upper, Dir lower, Bajawar and Malakand said that they arrange this free surgical camp every year for free surgery of poor patients at Chitral and other backward areas. A Local patient belong to Ashriat valley told this scribe that his wife was in critical condition in delivery case but Dr. Ayub and his team successfully operated her and a healthy baby was born (delivered) in hospital. Dr. Ayub announced that they will establish/open a free dispensary at Chitral by deploying a qualified doctor and paramedic staff to serve the needy patients. Local people of the area revealed that there is no surgeon in THQ hospital Drosh and they mostly approach to Chitral or Peshawar hospital for operation etc but by free surgical camp they were greatly facilitated and local people were benefited from this free facility. Some patients demanded for appointment of Surgical specialist and other specialists doctors of different categories. Residents of Drosh area appreciated FIF for organizing this free surgical camp at Drosh where there is no surgical specialist.
