4 died under avalanches at Yarkhun Lasht valley

CHITRAL: As well as four persons including a child were died hitting by heavy avalanche at Unawuj village of Yarkhun lasht valley some 250 KM from here. According to police station Mastuj some 4 persons were on their way at Unawuj village when they were hit by a heavy avalanche and were stranded/trapped  under the glacier as a result they were died on the spot. Those who died were known as Feroz Khan Son of Faraz Khan who is a spy (cop) of Chitral scouts, his wife and his son Ali Ahmad age 4 years and one pedestal Affas Khan son of Khair Ali of Unkeep Yarkhun. SHO Police station Mastuj Muhammad Sattar Khan said while talking to this scribe that  these four persons were stranded under avalanche when a heavy avalanche collapsed over them when were going on their way to an other village. He said that this bad luck incidence occurred on Saturday but due confounded  communication system Mastuj police was informed on Sunday and they proceeded to reach there in 19 hours by feet. Police said that they also received an other information regarding hitting of Kan Khoon village by avalanche as a result a huger number of cattle were died under the glacier hence no human loss have been reported until filling of this report. Similarly four persons had died on Friday under avalanche near Lawari Rail tunnel at Dir side but 3 of them are still missing. Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan has appeals to Provincial government to arrange for a helicopter to proceed their rescue teams to the spot for recovering of dead bodies from depress and glacier as there is no other resource except to travel by feet for 19 hours from Mastuj.
