4 million project of Protection Bund launched at Drosh

 Nazim appeal provincial Govt. to compensate fire victims.

 

CHITRAL: District Coordination Officer Chitral Mutasim Billah and Tehsil Nazim Sartaj Ahmad Khan visited the site at Hoon  where 8 shops were gutted by short circuit as a result goods worth of million rupees converted in ashes. They assured the victims for their full support. They said that although the district government having no fund to compensate fire victims hence they will try to approach Pakistan Baitul Mal and Provincial Minister Saleem Khan would also be requested for financial support the fire victims. On this occasion Tehsil Nazim Sartaj Ahmad Khan while talking to local journalist appeals to Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti to compensate these people whose shops were gutted and goods worth of million rupees also burnt in the fire.

 

Nazim inaugurated protection Bund construction at Drosh.

 

A project of protection Bund at Kaldam goal Drosh was launched here with the financial support of CIP2 (Community Infrastructure Project) with a cost of 4 million. Some 20 % fund of total cost was allocated by local community combing Citizen Community Board (CCB) 10% fund was proved by TMA Chitral and 70% fund by CIP. Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan was chief guest on the occasion while there ceremony was presided over by Maulana M. Usman. Deputy Director of CIP Muhammad Sabir said that CIP working on different infrastructure project at NWFP while some projects are under construction at Chitral. He said that you should to complete this project with honesty by using standard quality material to prove it as a model project. He said that this our basic policy to involve local community by 20% share of them for ownership of the ongoing project other wise unclaimed projects not sustained durably.

 

Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan while addressing the inaugural ceremony said that TMA Chitral trying of its best to provide all possible facilities to its people. He criticized road constructed by SRSP, which is of substandard quality. He advised the local people that construction of protection bund is not permanent solution of the problem to save from flood but you should to stop grazing by goats and protect your forest. He said if the local people are agreed I will invite WWF and other NGO to compensate you conditionally to ban goat grazing and cutting of forest. He said I am contacting World Bank who assured me for releasing fund of 350 million for water supply scheme.  Besides them Maqbool Azam Engineer TMA Chitral, Bahar Ahamd, Abdul Bari Nazim Union Council Drosh I also spoke on the occasion.
