Four killed in Swat operation
SWAT: Four people, including two miscreants, were killed while five militants injured as the security forces launched a fresh operation against outlaws in the restive Swat valley. The security forces also re-imposed 24-hours curfew (2am to 2pm) in the valley. It is the fifth time that curfew has been imposed during the last two weeks. Artillery and mortar engaged various positions of the militants in Swat in which four casualties have been reported, said an official press note issued from media cell in Mingora. In Jatkot and Najia Top, militant’s positions were engaged at night with artillery and mortar fire. However, exact number of casualties were unknown, added the earlier report. In north east of Manglawar, militant’s locations were engaged with artillery and mortar fire, added the press note.
A decision was taken to accommodate displaced people from affected areas into government schools who are currently living in various hotels of the city. Sequel to the instruction, the district government has opened the state-run high school No-3 for the displaced people.
Moreover, guiding arrangements are being established at various entry points into the city for supporting displaced people to respective schools. It is also endeavoured to provide them with all possible administrative support.
Life remained peaceful in Mingora, offices remained open and people were busy performing their routine activities, the press note said. It also rejected a media report which said that chaos and confusion was fast spreading in Swat, saying the news was absolutely false and devoid of fact the post soruce said
