The Judicial Magistrate visited Central Prison Peshawar and disposed off 45 petty nature criminal cases of under-trial prisoners pertaining to district
In view of increase in the number of under trial prisoners, even beyond the capacity of jails, the Chief Justice has issued standing instructions to the districts to remain in-touch with the jail authorities for and immediately depute a Judicial Magistrate for jail visit whenever information is received about confinement of prisoners involved in petty nature cases in order to dispose of their cases expeditiously inside jail.
It would lessen burden on the already preoccupied law enforcing agencies with the task of their production in courts, which is usually delayed owing to non-availability of the requisite security personnel to escort the under-trial prisoners form jail to the trial courts.
