Jammu, March 15 (Scoop News) – Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar on behalf of Chief Minister informed the House that 483 news papers are being published in the J&K State out of which, 321 news papers are approved for government advertisement.
He was replying to a clubbed question by Mohammad Yousuf Taing and Bashir Ahmad Magray in Legislative Council today.
The Minister said that the Government advertisements are issued as per the advertisement policy notified vide Government Order No. 53-ID of 1996 dated 26.07.1996 read with Government Order No. 06-ID of 2001 dated 17.04.2001.
Sagar said that total number of advertisements published in various newspapers of the State during 2008-09 was 62,168 and the payments due against advertisement released were Rs. 7.58 crore, out of which Rs. 6.54 crore were disbursed to them. He further said during 2009-10 as many as 77,778 advertisements are published and various newspapers against which payment is due and the funds released is Rs. 9.77 crore, out of which Rs. 8.48 crore were disbursed to them.
Rs 11,500 cr released for RD, PHE, I&FC in two years: Sagar
The Minister for Rural Development and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar on behalf of Chief Minister today informed the Legislative Assembly that under State and district Plans an allocation of Rs 11500 crore have been released to Rural Development (RD), PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Health, Education and Tourism sectors during last and current financial year, of which Rs 6000 crore have been released under various sectors during current financial year.
This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Muzaffar Hussain Beig in the Legislative Assembly here today.
The Minister said that additional funds are not released on constituency basis as the constituency is not the unit of planning. He, however, informed the House in detail about the additionality released during last two years under various sectors for development of different infrastructure in the districts of the State.
The Minister also gave detailed information of the funds released under various centrally sponsored schemes to various sectors during last fiscal and current financial year.
6 NABARD road projects under execution in Poonch: Sagar
Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar on behalf of Chief Minister informed the House that 6 road projects under NABARD have been taken in different constituencies of Poonch district at an estimated cost of Rs. 25.71 crore to provide better road connectivity to the people of the area.
He was replying to a question by Murtaza Ahmad Khan in Legislative Council today.
The Minister said the projects taken include construction of roads from Kajra to Bandichechain, Sukka Chua to Charoon, Jugal to Kullian, Hill to Kurla Thera, from main road to Zairat Sayed Kareem ShahGazi and from Marhote Idgah to Tola Mumtaz.
