5 shops 1 house gutted by short circuit.
CHITRAL: One house and five shops were gutted at different places of Chitral. As a result, goods worth of million rupees were reduced to ashes.
According to Chitral police the first incidence occurred at Awi village of Shughoor area where the house of Shamsuddin, a school teacher, caught fire and goods worth of lacs of rupees burnt in 8 rooms. Police said that fire was erupted by short circuit. Master Shamsuddin appeals to provincial and federal government to compensate him because his newly constructed house consisting on 8 rooms with precious goods were gutted. The second incidence was occurred near Ataleeq bridge Mehman Serai where fire burnt suddenly in a CD shop and spread to other 4 shops of barbers shops as a result precious goods were converted to ashes. Police said that fire was catch by short circuit. The fire was quenched by cops and forces of Chitral scouts, fire brigade of Tehsil Municipal Administration and local volunteers.
Meanwhile workers of Jamat Islami hold a protest rally in PIA square which was converted into a public meeting. Former MNA Chitral Abdul Akbar and other delivered speeches on the occasion. They lamented stopping work on Lawari tunnel and alleged that the fund was transferred to some other place of the country. They demanded for early constructin of Lawari tunnel.
