Plane Crashes At Aspen Airport In Western Colorado

Just minutes ago Fox News reported today, January 5, 2014, that a plane has crashed at Aspen Airport in western Colorado, indicating that at least one person was killed according to the authorities.

Three people were confirmed as being on the plane according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office. One survivor suffered serious injuries and the other survivor was said to have suffered minor injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration has said the plane appeared to be a Bombardier Challenger 600 as it took off from Tucson.

An eyewitness, Comedian Kevin Nealon, sent tweet message detailing about the crash; and tweeting, “Horrible plane crash here at Aspen airport; it exploded into flames as it was landing; I believe it was a private jet.”

Aspen is about 100 miles southwest of Denver and is nestled in the Rocky Mountains.
