Witches Float Among Obscurities

Poetry From The Heart

Dampness grips my body
searches for a place to dry
winds moan badgering sounds
sleeveless branches gesture
clouds race through the sky
rains imprison thoughts.

An owl hoots in the distance
warns trespassers not to enter
skeletons and scarecrows live here
headless bodies float
blood drips amid naked trees
grabs at people holds them hostage.

Witches float among obscurities
ducks behind bare bushes
eyes of fire, wicked laughs
slender fingers beckon…come, come
enter through the door of mystery
surprises and sudden fears.

Chills run through my moods
a black spider drops in my hair
imprisoned by black curls
it pulls and tugs, fights for its freedom…
I stumble and fall into a glowing pit of torment
screams, moans and crying’s pierce my brain.

It’s a hellhole…an inferno…
Why did I tumble into this pit?
Am I dreaming or is this a game?
How can I get out of this burning quarry?
Witches float among obscurities…
eyes flicker of fire and wicked chuckles…

Chills run through my moods…
