5141 SR0-43 cases settled so far in the State: Rather

Jammu, March 8 (Scoop News) – Minister for Finance,  A. R. Rather today informed the Legislative Assembly that out of a total 5532 pending SRO-43 cases in the State, as many as 5141 have been settled leaving a balance of only 391 such cases which shall also be settled as early as possible.

       Replying to a question of  G.M. Saroori in Legislative Assembly here today,  Rather made it clear that only 80 SRO-43 cases of Doda and Kishtwar are pending settlement, adding that as many as 654 and 27 appointments have been made under SRO-43 in the twin districts respectively till date. He said 46 militancy related SRO-43 cases are pending in district Doda and 44 in district Kishtwar for want of complete documentation and release of funds for Union Ministry of Home Affairs. He said that the cases would be decided as soon as the documentation is completed and funds received from the centre. The Minister also briefed above the criteria for making appointments under SRO-43 and said any affected under age person can apply for seeking jobs under SR0 within a period of one year only.

       However, the Speaker,  Mohammad Akbar Lone directed the government to take immediate cognizance of all such cases which are pending for long durations.

 

In response to the point raised by  Kafilul Rehman, Mir Saifullah and Er. Abdul Rashid regarding scarcity of ration at Tangdhar, Chokibal and Karnah and launching helicopter services to airlift of patients from snow bound areas of Kupwara district, Minister for Finance  A. R. Rather said that the Government has taken notice of demands of the members and will take appropriate measures shortly. He said the matter will be taken up with the Chief Minster for appropriate action.

Responding to the demand of  N.A. Gurezi, the Speaker  Mohammad Akbar Lone directed the government to extend the last date for class-IV posts or to defer the advertisement notification for the time being as the candidates are not able to apply for the same due to heavy snowfall in the hilly areas.

The Speaker also directed the government to depute a team of officials to the affected areas of Dudhbug and Sangrama constituency to assess the situation arisen due to soil erosions so that people could be provided temporary shelter as demanded by  Basharat Bukhari.

 Abdul Gaffar Sofi demanded temporary accommodation and financial assistance for the fire victims of Yaripora of Homeshalibug constituency.

  Abdul Majid Wani called for restoration of roads damaged due to heavy rains in Doda district and sought supply of adequate ration to the people of the area.

Mrs. Indu Pawar and Mrs. Bimla Luthra advocated for 33 percent reservation for women in the State and appreciated M.Y Tarigami for putting advocating a Bill in this regard.
