Bangladesh Navy has arrested 53 people who were illegally going to Malaysia. Last Saturday a bit far from Saint Martin Island a boat filled with 41 Bangladeshis and 12 Myanmar people was stopped by Navy. At that time that navy ship “Turag” was patrolling in the deep sea and saw this boat named “Ontuja” which was a Myanmar boat as well. They have been arrested after that and taken back to main land.
These arrested people said that they were illegally going to Malaysia from this country. Among them there were two dealers present and women also. These dealers were sending these people illegally to Malaysia by saying that they will give them some good jobs by which they can earn a lot of money. These dealers also took big amount of money from them to take them safely to Malaysia as well. Firstly, those Myanmar people came to Bangladesh by sea with that boat, and after that the Bangladeshis arrived on that boat. The two dealers were with them from the beginning of the journey, from Myanmar to be exact. But they had no clue that they might be caught in the deep sea.The Bangladesh Navy has transferred them to local Teknaf police station after arresting them.
