New Delhi/Jammu,September 23 (Scoop News) – The first batch of 500 students from Jammu and Kashmir to undergo technical training in different ITI’s outside state will be launched in the middle of October next year.
This was disclosed by Minister for Medical and Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, R. S. Chib during a meeting held here with the officials of ministry of Labour and Employment, under the Chairmanship of Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Mallikarjun Kharge. The first batch is likely to be inaugurated by the Union Minister, Kharge himself from the State.
The proposal for opening 50 new ITI’s and142 Skill Development Centres under the PPP mode was also discussed in the meeting. This proposal has been made by the State Government, in conformity with the Skill Development Mission of Government of India.
Chib informed the Union Minister that the State Skill Development Mission is being headed by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah himself and he was monitoring the mission. Chib, assured the Union Labour and Employment Minister that the state government will provide the land for establishment of these it is.
Chib also urged the Union Minister that hilly and difficult topography of the state may be taken into account while preparing the Draft Project reports.
The Union Minister assured Chib that, he will be visiting the state soon to take stock of the steps being taken to upgrade the existing it is, in respect of their infrastructure and technology.
