60th Republic Day celebrated across KashmirValley

Like other parts of the country, 60th  Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm across the Kashmir Valley.

 Baramulla (Kashmir) – The Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today unfurled the national flag at Baramulla and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKAP, IRP, Ladies Police, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC, Police and Army Bands and school children.

Addressing on the occasion, the Minister said that the recent elections have proved that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have a strong faith in democracy and constitution of the country. He said the present coalition Government led by Omar Abdullah is committed to provide transparent and people friendly government to the people.

. Taj said that the people have much expectations from the new coalition Government and said that all efforts would be made to fulfill these.

Later, a colorful cultural programme was presented by Department of Information and Education on the occasion.

Anantnag:-At Anantnag, the Minister for Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, NCC and school children.

Addressing the people, the Minister said the present coalition government is determined to alleviate poverty, unemployment and illiteracy from the State and in this context a series of measures have been initiated. He said the Government has prioritized education, health, power and PHE sectors hoping that the day was not far away when our State would achieve self sufficiency on all fronts. He appealed people to extend full cooperation to the Government.

Ganderbal: –The 60th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Ganderbal district. The main function was held at Ganderbal Stadium where Minister for Forests and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad hoisted the tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by JKP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services and contingents of various educational institutions.

Addressing on the occasion, the Minister appealed to the people and various political parties to strengthen the hands of the coalition Government in taking the Jammu and Kashmir State to new heights under the guidance and leadership of young Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah. He said the Government has accorded priority to various sectors including education, roads, PHE, power, irrigation, tourism etc.

The Minister said that Government has issued instructions to all officers for implementing the decisions relating to the welfare of the people on ground.

Mian Altaf said that the Chief Minister has promised to make Ganderbal district a model district in the entire country.

A colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.

At the district headquarters of Kulgam, Latief-u-Zaman Deva, Bandipora, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad, Kupwara, Mr. Mohammad Abbas, Pulwama, Iahriyaq Ahmad Ashai, Shopian, Mohammad Ramzan Thokar and Budgam, Muhammad Rafi the respective Deputy Commissioners hoisted the national flag and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, NCC and school children.

On the occasion, cultural programmes were presented by the Information department and school children.

Similar functions were held at Tehsil headquarters of Pattan, Uri, Sopore, Handwara, Gurez, Karnah, Pahalgam, Dooru, Shangus, Tangmarg, Bijbehara, Tral and Pampore.

Kargil: At Kargil, Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Kachu Ahmad Ali Khan unfurled the national flag and took salute at the march past presented by the JKP, JKAP, CRPF, NCC cadets and school children.

Leh: At Leh, Chief Executive Councilor, Tsering Dorja hoisted the flag and took salute at the march past.
