7 Die, 5 injured in road mishaps across valley

Srinagar, December 07(Scoop News) – Seven persons including three family members died and five others including minor girl were injured in the different road accidents across the Kashmir Valley.

Today a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK08A/5199 collided with Auto Load Carrier bearing registration number JK03A/8791 near Nayi Basti, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Anantnag, resulting in the death of the  Auto driver Mohammad Ismail Khushoo, age 35 years son of Ghulam Qadir, resident of Boat colony, Khanabal and injuries to other four persons. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.

  At village Shurat, Kulgam falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kulgam, Imtiyaz Ahmad Khanday age 30 years son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Naribugh, Kulgam, slipped from the Tata 407 vehicle bearing registration number JK03A/1705 in which he was traveling, with the result he received injured. The injured was shifted to district hospital Kulgam for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. A case has been registered in this regard.

A Maruti Car bearing registration number JK03C/4678 skidded off the road near Sanginard, Simthan-top,

Daksum Road
, Anantnag, and fell in a deep gorge, resulting in on the spot death of four passengers travelling in the Maruti Car. Bashir Ahmad Khari age 45 years son of Ghulam Qadir, Noor Jahan age 40 years wife of Bashir Ahmad Khari, Sharafat Ali Khari age 15 years son of Bashir Ahmad residents of Godvail, Kokernag and Mohammad Qasim Deedad age 60 years son of Mohammad Abdullah resident of Bidhard Kokernag. A case has been registered in this regard.

          Parvaiz ahmad Gonchi age 18 years son of Abdul Ahad resident of Gonchi Mohalla, Akhal, fell from Tractor bearing registration number JK01K/4587 near Akhal, Ganderbal falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kangan, resulting in his on the spot death. A case has been registered in this regard.

          A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK04B/3866 hit and injured a girl Harmat age 03 years daughter of Fayaz Ahmad resident of Pattan near Guzar Mohalla, Shilwat, Bandipora falling under the jurisdiction of police station Sumbal. The injured was shifted to JVC hospital, Srinagar for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.

Terrorists hide out busted, cache recovered

 

Jammu, December 07 (Scoop News) – Police   recovered  Barrel  Grenades    /launchers besides ammunition from the natural hideout of terrorists during a search operation in the  area of Nullian  forest in Shindara village  of district  Poonch   today.

 

             Reports revealed that Police (Command Group Poonch) on a tip off    launched a search operation in the area of Nullian forest in Shindara village under the jurisdiction of Police Station Poonch.  The suspected area was cordoned off and during search troops achieved success in locating the natural hideout of terrorists. The  natural hideout of  terrorists was smashed and recoveries effected  from it  include ;  208  Rounds  of (AK-47) , 02 Under Barrel  Grenade Launcher, and 14 Under Barrel  Grenades.                       

              The stores recovered from the hideout had the potential of causing large scale casualties and damage to property. The busting of the hideout has succeeded in derailing the nefarious designs of the terrorists and their supporters.

 

 

Minor girl rescued by Police , 2 kidnappers  held

           Udhampur Police today rescued  one minor girl  while two kidnappers have been arrested being involved in kidnapping her on November 11th ,2011 from her residential village Galiote, Pancheri.

The accused have been identified as  Saif Din S/o Rashid Gujjar his father Rashid Gujjar S/o Sain both residents of Sadhota, Pancheri.  

          Reports revealed that one minor girl namely Begum D/o Noora R/o Sadhota, Tehsil and District Udhampur was kidnapped  from her residential village Galiote, Pancheri by one Saif Din S/o Rashid Gujjar with the assistance of his father namely Rashid Gujjar S/o Sain both residents of Sadhota, Pancheri and abduction report  to this effect have been registered  at PS Panchari  as complained  by her parents.    

          Accordingly Sh. Shakeel Ahmed Beig, SSP Udhampur passed strict  instructions to  SHO Police Station Pancheri to make all out efforts to rescue the girl.  Subsequently, the said girl was recovered by Police Party of P/S Pancheri from Latyar area of Block Pancheri after hectic efforts . Both the accused persons were arrested on the spot. In this regard a Case FIR No. 52/2011 U/S 363/376/109 stands registered at Police Station, Pancheri.  Further investigation in the case is going on.

 

Police recovered 612 Pouches of illicit liquor, woman among 2 held

                                To keep check on illegal business of liquor selling, Ramban Police has intensified its nakas to thrash the nefarious designs of liquor smugglers . Police today achieved a major success when they intercepted a car and during checking recovered 612 pouches of J&K Excise liquor and arrested two persons including a lady bootlegger.

     The accused  have been identified as Abdul Hamid S/o Hussain Mohd R/o Raipur Satwari Jammu and Paramjeet alias Kanta Devi W/o Bachan Lal R/o Raipur Satwari Jammu.

     Reports said that Police Party laid a naka at Patnitop and during checking intercepted one Alto Car bearing registration no. JK02AC-5481. During search of the vehicle, found 17 Boxes, containing 36 pouches each making in all 612 pouches of J&K Excise liquor were recovered. Both bootleggers  Abdul Hamid and  Paramjeet alias Kanta Devi were arrested and a case under Excise Act was registered against them at Police Station Batote.

During investigation it has been found that the arrested lady and person are habitual smugglers and they usually carry illegal liquor for selling purposes. They also revealed that they generally keep a female with them to deceive the Police. But it is only due to the prompt action of Ramban Police that they realized the fact and crack down their evil plans.   

  

     

Bear injures a man in Kokernag   

Abdul Rashid Khokhar age 37 years son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Kralwani, Vailoo, Kokernag, Anantnag was injured when he was attacked by a bear near his residence. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. 

 

 

Body recovered in Pulwama     

Today Pulwama Police recovered body of a Tractor driver Mushtaq Ahmad Ganaie age 26 years son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Shangerpora, Pulwama, from Hanjan, Payeen, Pulwama, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Rajpora.

The body was handed over to his relatives for last rites. A case has been registered in Rajpora police station.  

 

Fire incident    

Fire broke out in the godown of Mushtaq Ahmad Wani son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Ellahi Bagh, Soura, situated in Kawoosa Complex, Bohrikadal, Srinagar, falling under the jurisdiction of police station M.R Gunj. However, no loss of or injury was reported in this incident. The cause of fire is being ascertained.
