MAKATI CITY – Eight contractors of Ayala Land Inc., are now facing charges of multiple homicide and gross negligence the Department of Justice recommended filing of charges against them. This is in connection with the Glorietta 2 blast in Makati City that killed 11 persons and wounded 108 others.
Those charged were Candelario Valdueza (Makati Supermarket Corp. project engineer), Engr. Clifford Arriola (operations manager of Marchem Industrial Sales and Services Inc), Engr. Ricardo Cruz (operations manager of Metalline, electricity contractor), Joselito Buenaventura (Marchem supervisor), Charlie Nepomuceno (maintenance personnel), Jonathan Ibuna (maintenance personnel), Juan Ricafort (maintenance personnel) and Miguel Velasco Jr. (maintenance personnel).
Meanwhile charges against Marcelo Botenes (building engineer), Engr. Jowel Velvez, (building administrator), Arnel Gonzales (building manager), Fire Officer 4 Anthony Grey; FO2 Leonilo Balais and Sr. Insp. Reynaldo Enoc were dismissed.
