There are stages of pregnancy that are common for all women, but the details and the intensity of various symptoms can vary significantly. Every woman is unique, which means their pregnancies will be completely different, as well. However, you shouldn’t fall into despair when and if you discover that some of the usual methods aren’t working for you – that only means you need a special kind of care, and you need to try a couple of different things until you discover what suits you. Meditate
With so much worries about pregnancy and everyday stress the sources of which can’t be so easily exterminated, it’s very important to put an additional effort into finding new ways to relax. If you haven’t by now, you should definitely try to meditate – it will help you deal and process all problems that you encounter, and you’ll be a lot more relaxed, which is really healthy for your baby.
Rest
Before you were pregnant, you probably went through the whole day without taking a nap. This needs to change because your body is burdened, and you need more energy and sleep. As I already mentioned, listen to your body and don’t allow yourself to get exhausted. Take as many naps as you need.
Work Out
However, this doesn’t mean you should stay at home the whole day and do nothing. If you don’t want to do any damage to your body, you need to keep it active. During the first trimester, you can continue your workout regularly, without changing a thing, but as your body grows, you’ll need to make certain adjustments – it’s probably best to consult your trainer. If you don’t really have a habit of going to the gym, you should take long walks several times during the day – it’ll do the trick.
Indulge Yourself
Every need you feel should get satisfied. This is the perfect time for pampering, so do whatever you like – spend the whole day getting massages, facial treatments, shopping, reading, watching old movies… If you’re a happy expectant mom, your baby will be too.
Trust Your Medic
During pregnancy, you should expect to hear a lot of different tips, tricks and theories from many different people, but that shouldn’t be your first nor your primary source of info. There are people who are trained and educated to carry out your pregnancy with you, so don’t put your trust in just anyone. You need to find a professional team of medics you can rely on any time of day or night, and you shouldn’t stop until you find people you’re comfortable with.
Eat Healthy
Having the right information is as important as eating healthy. Most women feel that pregnancy is the time when you can eat everything, but this is just another common mistake. Again, nutrition also depends on your body, but it’s absolutely necessary to consult a professional and let them explain to you which foods you should eat and why. Having cravings is a normal part of every pregnancy, and you should definitely indulge yourself, but make sure all those small pleasures are carefully dosed.
When the baby comes
As your baby starts to develope it would be wise to be on a lookout and monitor its progression, in order to make sure everything goes as it should. There are so-called baby milestones that you need to follow and these include the first steps or first words.
At 3-6 months, the baby should be able to maintain eye contact or catch your gaze. Furthermore, during this time period the baby should be able to kick and laugh, which indicates it has the ability to play. If your baby is between 4-8 months old, he or she should be able to sit up. After 8 months, baby should be able to crawl and have more mobility, which naturally leads to first steps.
Your first pregnancy can be quite difficult to deal with, but if you take things slow and take good care of your mind and body, your baby and you will be just fine.
