Katra/Jammu, October 16 (Scoop News) – As a part of on-going Navratra Festival being organized by Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board (SMVD) and Department of Tourism in collaboration with District Administration and local organizations at Katra, a scintillating cultural procession depicting rich culture of J&K state and other parts of the country was taken out from Asia Crossing where the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal who was the chief guest on the 8th Navratra, lit the sacred Jyoti before the start of colourful procession.

The procession after passing through main locations of the holy town culminated at Higher Secondary School Katra. Different scenes of the Jhankies were so tastefully decorated that no one could resist himself to give repeated applause and slogans in praise of goddess Durga.

Terming the Navratra Festival Katra a real platform of talent hunt, Dr. Kotwal said that the mega event have produced many singers who are proving their best at the other forums in the country. He hoped that the artists of this event would show their excellence at national and international level in near future. He also paid rich tributes to the Yog Guru, Swami Hari Bhagat Chetaniya Ji Maharaj and recalled his tireless services for the humanity.
