When Renee Zellweger stepped out in October looking a little less like herself, many were behoved to ask: “Did she or didn’t she?”
In Tinseltown, this question has truly proven as utilitarian as “what are you wearing.” After all, an industry that banks on close-up shots needs its front-liners to get all the help they can in being presentable. Yet many actors, musicians, etc. are ashamed to admit getting some work done, as they feel like it’s an affront to their person.
Some celebrities, however, are not afraid to fess up to a nip and tuck here and there. If anything, they are proud of what they have achieved. Here are some of these beautiful people:
Joan Rivers
It makes sense that the person who popularised “what are you wearing” on the red carpet should not shrink from answering “did you or did you not.” The late comedienne was not shy about her cosmetic enhancements and would not even dither to incorporate them into her humour material. She has undergone—among 700 procedures—rhinoplasty, eyelift, facelift, Botox, and liposuction. To her, getting plastic surgery is just “a little like coffee, you just keep going.” Ever the rib-tickler, Rivers explained to EW: “Babies respond to pretty faces, so stop telling everyone it’s okay not to be pretty! If you can fix it, fix it!” She also declared to Zap2it: “There is nothing that I have done that I’m sorry I did.”
Sylvester Stallone
Stallone thinks there is no big deal about the whole phenomena. He was quoted by People Magazine as saying: “Why not do it? You have body work done on your car.”
Julie Chen
In 2013, Julie Chen made a stunning revelation: She had undergone blepharoplasty or ‘double eyelid surgery’ to jumpstart her career early on. It paid off: Chen went on to feature in a variety of television programs. With shows like The Talk under her belt, the broadcast journalist shows no qualms.
George Clooney
Like Julie, one of the sexiest men alive underwent surgery for his peepers. He nonchalantly told Julia Roberts and Oprah: “I had my eyes done.” He thought it was a good decision, as it was “important to look awake.”
Dolly Parton
Dollywood’s finest not only goes under the knife regularly; she exhorts the masses to follow suit. She once urged readers of In Touch who has the “nerve, desire and the money” to “find a good doctor and just do it.” She herself has been known to get a boob job, in addition to numerous facelifts and Botox infusions.
Wendy Williams
This shock jock and TV host has confessed to undergoing liposuction to trim areas that do not respond to physical activity and diet. Her struggles with weight are well-publicised, and she seems genuinely relieved her surgeon is there to help her.
David Hasselhoff
Hasselhoff has been an outspoken supporter of Botox. While his Baywatch days are long behind him now, the vintage hunk has somehow halted the ravages of time thanks to the injections.
Kaley Cuoco
When the Big Bang Theory thespian was 18, she had breast implantation. She called it the “best decision” she ever made.
Simon Cowell
To the X Factor judge, “Botox is no more unusual than toothpaste.” He was quoted as saying in Glamour Magazine. “It works, you do it once a year. Who cares?”
