Malawi immigration officers this week rounded up 90 illegal immigrants.
According to immigration sources, one is indian and another is Chinese.The rest are from African the majority coming from war torn areas of Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo ,Sudan ,Burundi and Somalia.
Immigration souces say the Chinese was supposed to do business in the capital of Malawi,Lilongwe but was found doing business in another town in southern Malawi.
The officers say this is a serious offence which would even warrant deportation.
The illegal immigrants have since been put on remand at Dzaleka Prison.
Malawi has been flooded with alot of illegal immigrants because the country has not experienced civil war since independence from Britain.
Its people are always friendly and ready to assist a foreigner.
However many people have expressed concern for the flooding of refigees and the swelling of crime ,especially in the capital city.
Most say it is the refugees , who ,it is believed, were soldiers ,that are involved in crimes.
