9th IFMA India National Muaythai C’ship-2009 at Jammu

 

As reported in Asiantribune, the 9th IFMA India National Muaythai Championships will be held from April 6 to 9, 2009 at Jammu in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The Championship will be organized by Jammu and Kashmir Muaythai Association (JKMA), an affiliated unit of Muaythai Federation of India (MFI) and Amateur Muaythai Association of India (AMAI).
Around 300 players and over 50 officials from the 30 MFI-affiliated units from across the country will take part in this mega National Muaythai Championships at Jammu.
Large number of International Muaythai personalities from International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA), Federation of Amateur Muaythai of Asia (FAMA) and World Muaythai Council (WMC) are also expected to grace the grand opening ceremony of the Championships, besides high ranking state and central government dignitaries. The tournament will have 5 Divisions—1. Male Senior, 2. Male Junior, 3. Female, 4. Male Sub-Junior and 5. Female Sub-Junior and it will be conducted under the rules of IFMA. Only MFI and AMAI-affiliated units are allowed to take part in this Championship.
There will also be MFI and AMAI National Executive Meet on 5th April, 2009 at Jammu before the commencement of the 9th IFMA India National Muaythai Championships 2009. Senior MFI and AMAI Officials including O Manglemjao, NG Jeet Khumancha and other Executive Members from Manipur will also attend the Meet, besides MFI and AMAI leaders from other parts of the country. The Meet will be chaired by MFI and AMAI National President, Oken Jeet Sandham.
The Meet will discuss various vital issues concerning the future of Muaythai in the country and how the MFI and AMAI will go about for the effective promotion and development of Muaythai in the country in line with the Olympic Charter.
