After beating Moya to reach the quarters of the Chennai Open, Somdev Devvarman beats fourth seeded Ivo Karlovic of Croatia 7-6(4) 6-4 to enter into the semis of the tournament. It was yet another stunning display of Somdev who played brilliantly and raised his level. Somdev is currently boosting in confidence and is raring to go further.
In the process, he became the only second Indian after Leander Paes to figure in the semifinals of the 14-year old prestigious event.
"More than that whatever this win gives me, it means a lot to the kids growing up in India. I really hope that my Friday’s win can inspire them to come up. Hopefully, Indian tennis could rise better and better to greater heights," Somdev told in the post-match conference.
