A 5-Foot Boa Constrictor Slithered Out Of An Office Building Toilet

I read this on AOL.Com’s news section this morning and I could not believe what I was reading and I certainly wanted to pass it onto readers advising them they never know what’s lurking in places a person would never think about. I’m sure most of us have heard about snakes in a loft or the movie snakes on a plane but who would believe snake in an office toilet in a commercial building.

Stephanie Lacsa, Co-Founder of Vertical PR + Marketing, went to the office bathroom in the downtown area of San Diego; before sitting down she noticed the water in the toilet bowl was higher than it normally is. She did like any other ordinary person would do and she grabbed the plunger to use it to get the water to go down before sitting down.

Lacsa said, “I thought my eyes were deceiving me,” but as I saw the flicker of its tongue, I definitely knew that it was, in fact, a large snake heading straight toward me.”

Lacsa was beside herself and she ran from the bathroom screaming and back to her desk to tell her friend Wells who had just left the bathroom. Wells looked in and saw the gigantic snake’s head and by this time, the snake was out of the bowl and slithering behind the toilet as she snapped several photos of the snake.

They called the San Diego Animal Services and they came out and retrieved a 5-foot, 6-inch Colombian rainbow boa constrictor out of the office bathroom.

The San Diego Animal Services is in control of the boa and they’re investigating how it could have possibly gotten into the buildings plumbing. The snake, which is said to be nonvenomous, will be sent to a reptile group if the owner doesn’t claim it by Friday.

There’s one thing that I’m going to believe that all the men and women working for Vertical PR + Marketing will definitely be afraid to sit down on a toilet in the building for a long time to come. I know for sure, I’ll be looking in the toilets as well and then I’m going to be skittish and fearful too.

Wells commented, “I mean it’s not just this toilet, it’s going to be every bathroom experience probably for the rest of my life.”

People never know what is hidden that we may never see and we could be in danger on many occasions. What can we do about it? We must continue through life but be leery of our surroundings at all times.
