Hepatitis A
Hepatitis A is a viral disease caused by infection with Hepatitis A virus. It is a liver disease in which liver get inflamed. It is an infectious disease. It found in the stool of hepatitis A infected person and spread from one person to another person via blood and stool. This disease occurs throughout the world especially in developing country and under develops country due to poor hygienic condition.
The main reason behind the spreading of the diseases is poor sanitary condition. When a person having hepatitis A did not washed his hand properly after passing stool and touched another person’s hand then the another person get contaminated. The disease get transmitted when contaminated person when put something in his mouth with his hand.
Sometime drinking water contaminated due to improper hand wash from an infected person. When some other person drinks this water, he is infected.
Another reason is when people eat the food prepared by a Hepatitis A infected person being infected.
Blood transfusion from infected person to a healthy person helps to spread the disease.
Anal sex is another reason of spreading this disease.
If a person eats partially cooked or raw fish collected from sewage water or contaminated water, he or she will contaminated with disease.
Symptoms of Hepatitis A
The symptom starts appearing after two to5 weeks of infection. The main symptoms are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, low fever, rashes, loss of appetite and yellowing of skin (jaundice), abdominal pain. Diarrhea occurs in case of children.
Treatment of Hepatitis A
No specific treatment is there. Patient needs adequate rest and proper nutrition. If skin become yellow then the patient need blood test or a liver panel test.
Sometime doctor prescribe Hepatitis A antibody test.
If a person have a large amount of vomiting or he gets dehydrated then only hospitalization needed.
Patient should drink a plenty amount of water. He or she should take food, which does not cause any harm to the liver. Patient should avoid tea, coffee or any alcoholic beverages, which causes harm to liver. He or she takes adequate rest. He should not take any medicine which causes harm to liver .If patient is confused about taking medicine then he or she should consult a doctor.
