On Tuesday morning, a British lady jumped from the balcony of her hotel room in the northern city of Agra to run away from sexual haunting.
The three-star hotel Agra Mahal described as a place where guests can experience “traditional Indian culture and hospitality “is now shut. The hotel is just a five-minute drive from India’s most-famous tourist spot Taj Mahal.
According to local police the lady’s statement read out that one the manager of Hotel Agra Mahal, turned up at the door of the room where this woman was staying to inquire if she wanted a free head massage. The lady said she asked him to leave and not to disturb her. According to her statement the woman pushed him out of the room and locked the door of her hotel room.
The lady states same manager came back at 4:30 a.m. in the morning along with another man and attempted to open the door of her room. The woman told police she got terrified and jumped out of the window onto the street from her first-floor hotel room. The British lady tore a ligament in her ankle in her fall. A man in the street helped her to stop a rickshaw in which she went to the police station to file an FIR against the hotel manager.
. She has been transferred to another hotel under police protection. As reported by police the manager has been arrested on charges of sexual harassment. However, Manager denies the allegation of sexual harassment and states that he was only aiming to wake up the woman because she was meant to leave the hotel early morning that day.
