The Beijing Olympics is one of the most highly-expected events of 2008. However, different kinds of concerns have been aroused, including the pollution problem which affects the athletes’ health; the allocation of the tickets, which many people have been competing to get it, and the online-selling of tickets has been sold out within one day; and now, the security and hospitality that China should be showing towards the dignities from different countries. The few most known political leaders, Gordon Brown, US President George Bush, and other heads of states or royalties coming to Beijing from over 60 countries.
Last Olympic, which had already set the record of receiving 67 VIPs, was thought to be the highest number of leaders received in Athens among all Olympic Games. The record is going to be broken this year, since 90 applications to visit the event have already been sent.
However, China has been expecting this to happen for it is the usual time for the applications came streaming in five months ahead of the actual game starts, the past experienced showed that.
It was definitely a whole new experience for China for China has never received so many notable guests at the same time. It’s the time for China to show to the world that it is a country which is developing rapidly and is capable of holding such an important event. Nevertheless, China needed perseverance to keep up the hard-work and put extra effort to find a resolution to reconcile the problem of pollution and endeavour it’s utmost strength to make this year’s Olympic a global big extravaganza and a delirium for the people who participated, and of course, every one of the audiences.
