The question for the shootings in our country is, “Where does the murderous rage come from?” The fear-based society we live in promotes violence to solve issues. Fear is covered by anger that leads to rage, to hurting others in revenge, to killing others from projecting their inner pain, to killing themselves to escape that inner hopelessness and helplessness.
I tried suicide to run away from my inner pain of trauma in a childhood and marriage of domestic violence to a psychopathic, alcoholic man. When it is inflicted on another, there is outrage. Japanese students are committing suicide in vans because of these conditions. The media just does not tell these stories. Our society does not teach love.
People are in survival from all the perpetuated fears of war, family dysfunction, finances, job survival and more. The news is all about violence. When people are in fear, the last option is violence according to Isaac Asimov. He states “Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.”
Society actually keeps people in fear through religious threats, medical diagnoses, laws for punishment, even street corner traffic cameras. When are we going to see life as love, abundance, and prosperity? When are we going to teach our society to love our neighbors, instead of offer movies, television violence, toys and video games to shoot others and ourselves? As I left a movie theater recently there were assault riffles on the video game in the lobby. Then when people do it in real life, people are surprised.
Anger has to come out somewhere and some how. The fruits of this are all over the news and media. It is time to reverse our thoughts into productive, kind, and caring for our fellows and neighbors. This resolves mental illness that is only fear and survival.
Now, we have a wake up call to reverse our thinking. Changing our thoughts will reverse the whole problem. It is not guns; it is our fear based thinking. Fear is the illusion that can be replaced with the love of reality. We come together in a loving spirit. When we have love-based lives, no one will want to hurt their self or another.
