A Guide to Parent-Teacher Relationship

Though parents have chosen the best school their child, much will depend on the student’s teacher.

Parents active involvement is an advantage that gives opportunity for the school to provide the best for your child.  You must understand that the teacher’s style and how it complements the learning techniques relevant to optimize your child’s performance and well-being are taken care of very well.  Instead, ask what you can do to help and take an active role in your child’s school activities.

A back-to-back reinforcement will help your child do his homework, as it teaches him discipline and responsibility.  Conflicting rules must be avoided so that there won’t be any confusion as who to follow – always remember that your child’s progress will be based on a collective effort:  your children, their teacher’s, and yours.

You should communicate and cooperate to cultivate regular communication with the school.  You may ask teachers for an appropriate time and place for meetings.  Be sure to make a list of issues or concerns that you would like to discuss beforehand.  Remember that when talking to teacher, be aware of your tone of voice, your words, and your body language.  If your child hears a negative comment about the teacher, this will undermine the teacher-child relationship and will not solve any problems.
Never give negative comments about their teacher as this will undermine their relationship and it won’t solve any problem.
