Poetry From The Heart
Maria, Maria, life isn’t the same without your smile
eyes of beauty stare as I search for miles.
A morning’s sun guides me along a pathway of hope
search for ways to endure and to be gifted to cope.
You left without warning or bidding a goodbye
a mass of thoughts leave me empty and dry.
The arid fields welcome me to toddle through
scorching heat and a red-hot desire to find you…
Maria, Maria, life isn’t the same without your smile…
why oh why am I not in your arms for a little while?
The cattle are dying in the grasslands we’d shared
there’s “no” pleasure where I’ve searched or spared.
I wish you could come back if for only a day
lift this fear from my soul and carry me away.
Storm clouds wait in the sky, darkness hovers within
lightning strikes and thunder thrives round the bend.
Maria, Maria, life isn’t the same without your smile…
eyes of beauty stare as I’ve searched for miles.
The search is long and roads are shutting down
often confused as I kept passing round and round.
Times together filled our cores with trust and heartfelt love
Maria, Maria, life isn’t the same without your smile…
eyes of beauty stare as I’ve searched the miles…
Maria, Maria, life isn’t the same without your smile.
