Well, launching a new website by a high profile personality like a minister in Tamil Nadu, may not interest many of you.But when things get unraveled you may be more inquisitive to know the reasons behind its launch, purpose and the idea behind it.
The minister who launched the new web site was none other than M.K.Stalin, the Local Administration Minister, the heir-apparent and perhaps the most-favoured son to succeed the Octogenerian Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M.Karunanithi, as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Mr.M.K.Stalin, in his website, www.mk.stalin.net has created a blog in which the minister speaks out openly about the present political scenario. He comments upon and perhaps lashes out at the newly emerged actor turned politicians like Vijayakanth, the founder of DMDK party, Mr.Sarath Kumar, founder of AISMK party, as part-timers who wish or aspire to become Chief Ministers overnight without making any sacrifices or without having any ground work in politics.Mr.Stalin calls upon his own party men to work for the party and be prepared for sacrifices without any expectation. Then posts will come to you automatically.Mr.Stalin’s blog has overwhelming response of over one lakh of his party men, the web incharge said.
Well, as a high profile personality Mr.Stalin has got his own right to create his own website and air his own views on politics that too meant for his followers.Of course in a democracy he has got his own right to make any comments upon his political adversaries. But the moot question is, whether politics is his monopoly and of his family and relatives.Won’t any other person legitimately enter politics and aspire to become chief minister on his own right. Is he the deciding authority and entitled to say who should enter politics or what he should aspire for.Are we living in a democracy or heading towards a hereditary-democracy, a new political format emerging at the auspicious of his own party.Last but not least, being a responsible citizen of Tamil Nadu,am I not entitled to comment upon a minister’s blog.Thank God, I have got ‘Ground Report’to air my own views and comments.
