On 27 March 2015, Raffaele Sollecito an innocent man unjustly persecuted for a crime which no evidence tied him to, finally saw the light at the end of his tunnel. The scales of justice would rise, and this living hell would finally come to an end. Raffaele would now be able to wake up to a new day where he’s free.
Though the worst was over, faith had wickedly put a twist in Raffaele’s path, since in May 2016, Raffaele would once again be asked to go to court, this reason even more ridiculous than the last.
The lead prosecutor of the case against Raffaele, when he was arrested on 6 November 2007, Giuliano Mignini had the audacity to throw yet another ridiculous accusation against Raffaele. Mignini is attesting that in Raffaele’s book, Honor Bound, lies were told about him.
Leave it to Mignini to turn a book about an innocent man’s willingness to survive into something it is not.
On 4 December 2015, it looks like the tables are finally going to turn on Mignini and true justice for Raffaele can finally be done.
The disciplinary section of Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura has convicted Mignini of the crime of violating Raffaele’s rights by not letting him speak with an attorney following his arrest on 6 November 2007. This in itself is a direct violation to the laws inscribed within the Code of Criminal Procedure.
This verdict was issued by Antonio Leone, who presided over the “tribunal delle toghe,” which had taken place at the Palazzo dei Marescialli. In it, Leone declared Mignini guilty of violating the law and Raffaele’s rights.
The final reasoning behind the verdict will be released by the court in a month.
