A Pakistani & a Kashmiri prisoner acquitted by Sessions Court in Jammu

Jammu, May 14 (Scoop News)-First Additional Sessions Judge Shri Mohan Singh Parihar acquitted a Pakistani national Syed Sajjaj Bukhari (he was arrested by J&K Police in 1995 and remained in several jails in India under PSA.
Pro.f Bhim Singh filed petition for several Pakistani and PoK prisoners. Mr. Bukhari was one of the oldest prisoner) and a Kashmiri prisoner Riyaz Ahmad Haji today after a long trail for 20 years militant activities in J&K.

Mr. Bukhari’s case was shifted along with several foreign prisoners to J&K for trial. Presently lodged in Sangroor jail in Punjab where as Riyaz Ahmad Haji was detained in a UP jail and transferred, and bailed out by Suprme Court on the petition of SLAC headed by Prof. Bhim Singh.

Mr. Bukhari and Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Haji were arrested by J&K police under section 302 and other offenses related to militancy in 1995 in the state.

Mr. Bukhari remained detained in several indina jails including Nanital, Sangroor, Rajasthan.

Bansi Lal Sharma, Advocate State Secretary of State Legal Aid Committee has been defending both persons for so many years. Off course, free of any fees on behalf of SLAC Bansi Lal Sharma Adv. told the media persons outside the Court that the decision of the Sessions Judge shows the supremacy of the judiciary, integrity of the judges and the victory of rule of law.

Mr. Sharma congratulated Prof. Bhim Singh for taking initiative to ensure justice to the innocent people, who so ever, day may be. He said this is might of Article 21 of the Constitution of India that even Pakistani prisoners get justice and equity in India.

He said that this view was reflected by the Vice-President of India Mohd. Hamid Ansari who said that out of 1.23 billion people of India Bhim Singh is unique. Vice-President was launching Bhim Singh’s Book on Pakistani Prisoner in India.
