Poetry From The Heart…
A woman stands in the shadows…
yearns for what could never be
cries in silence
longs for a glimpse of his face, a smile…
hear the tone of his voice.
He’d forgotten this woman…
who searches shore to shore
craving to see blue eyes once known well
feeling warm breath upon her neck…
experience the love once shared.
She waits in the shadows…
her heart weary and tired
love…a farce…a deceptive affair
a body aching for closure
an empty shell with wavering values.
There she stands…
an outline in the darkness
jaded and exhausted from letdowns
long nights scream for better tomorrows
hungering emotional peace and gratification.
Only a silhouette in the distance…
wants swallowed by the dawn of a new day
release and ease the obscurity…
erase the vacuity of cravings of long ago…
soar throughout the lands and the seas
finding freedom from lies and deceptions in the past.
