A woman died at BBMP hospital, Bangalore after applying anesthesia

A 33 years old woman, Laxmi Bai admitted to BBMP’s Srirampura referral hospital for tubectomy operation.

As soon as doctor administrated her with anesthesia, she immediately stated feeling breathing trouble.Soon her pulse rate start dipping.The doctors sensing complications they shifted her to M S Ramaiah Hospital but on the way she died.

MS Ramaiah Hospital registered this case as brought to death.They will conduct postmortem.

Lakshmi Bai’s husband,Babu registered a complaint in Srirampura Police Station, alleging doctor’s negligence as a reason of his wife’s death.

BBMP’s deputy commissioner, Vasanth Rao mentioned that the death might be occurred due to cardiac arrest of the patient. He also mentioned that she died before commencing of surgery.

“We have to wait for the postmortem report and then decide action,” Vasanth Rao said.

However this incident revealed the insensitivity of doctor’s of government hospital.
