Jammu, October 14, (Scoop News)-The Deputy Commissioner, Jammu has earlier instructed to run the school for the children which are displaced because of recent border firing at the location of the relief camp so that studies of students are not affected. In this regard Dr. Piyush Singla, IAS, SDM Jammu North has started initiative of “Aapka School Aapke Pass” at Higher Secondary School Domana where relief camp is being operated.
As the part of initiative teachers from nearby schools are roped in to teach the children in the camp. The groups were made as per educational requirements of the students. Children are also provided with the books as per their class standard along with stationary in the form of Note books, pens, pencils etc. Nearly 150 students participated in the initiative and more children from nearby areas are expected to join.
Also painting competition and other quizzes are planned as part of initiative in the coming time, so that best of education facilities can be provided to the children for displaced because of border firing.
The camp is also equipped with facilities like dispensary, lodging, sanitation and rations provisioning etc. Nearly about 500 patients have been treated till date at the dispensary and around 150 children have been immunized with measles and polio vaccine at the camp
