A typical teenaged girl, who loved dancing, who socialised on Facebook and was as excited about her birthday as any one her age would be.
In school she had written happily everywhere, ”My birthday is coming! Please wish me!!” Aarushi would have turned 14 on May 24.
Aarushi, who was found dead with her throat slit in her Noida home last week, left behind close friends who were saddened to hear about their 14-year-old friend’s tragic end.
Her absence now makes them nostalgic and regret that they did not do what they ought to have, did not say what they should have said to her, but only if they had one chance.
On social networks like Facebook and Orkut, in a shrinking world, even those who did not know her are grieving for her. On Facebook, the words of her friends bring alive a lively teenager.
Friends recall her sitting by the windowsill. A bunch of them were playing the game ”anonymous question answer rounds” and Aarushi said, ”I’ll be always be there for all of you, whether I am physically present or not. Love you all.”
The teenager is remembered as practicing dance steps from her Ashley Lobo classes in the ninth wing corridors of her school. Friends say she was brilliant in academics and always helpful.
She was in the Ganges House in Delhi Public School, Noida, and was loved by little kids.
Earlier this week, friends lit candles for her and prayed that she would come back one last time to meet them. Some friends have also scribbled messages for her on school grounds and canteen walls.
On Facebook, they sign off with a ”love you” for ”the always smiling girl and even we wish her soul the same Rest in Peace, Aarushi.”
