President of Malawi Dr. Bingu Wa Mutharika has appealed to the international community to accept Taiwan as a member of the United Nations.
Speaking in Taipei over the weekend Dr. Mutharika said the International community can benefit alot from what Taiwan can offer to them.
Taiwan has been applying to be a member of the United Nations several times.However the requests have always been rejected by the United nNations.
China look at Taiwan as a province and has time and again threaten to use force if Taiwan declares independence.
Malawi is one of the few countries in Africa which have mainted diplomatic relations with Taiwan.
